Horncastle Community Choir is tuning up for their second year of singing together - and you could be part of it.

The choir began singing as part of QEGS’s adult
education programme last September.

In their first few months, they started by singing songs they liked and gradually learnt more music together.

“Sometimes the singing was a bit wobbly, sometimes we got it right, sometimes wrong,” said choir director Frances Kelly.

“But every time we sang together, we enjoyed ourselves, improved, learnt to be more confident and have fun in the process.”

The choir made their debut at the Horncastle Christmas Market and since then have done a number of performances.

Not everyone performs, it is fine just to go along to the Tuesday sessions to sing.

“We welcome everyone, especially people who think they shouldn’t or can’t sing,” added Frances.

“No-one is auditioned, no-one is judged, no-one competes; everyone is welcome, everyone is valued and everyone sings.”

The first session of the season is at QEGS in West Street, on Tuesday, September 8, from 7pm to 9pm.

Fees are £5 per work. For more information, call Frances on 01522 560163 or email frank@minimorris.co.uk.
