Thorpe Camp, part of a communal site for RAF Woodhall, built in 1940, is now open once more to visitors.

The Preservation Camp and museum includes not just ex-service items, but sections on civilian life in Lincolnshire in the 1940s.

It is open to the public from 1pm to 5pm on Sundays and Bank Holidays from Easter to October, plus Wednesdays during July and August.

There are also a number of special events through the year.

They will be open for the Museums at Night event on May 14, from 6pm to 10pm, and again on October 20.

On June 11 there will be a street party for Queen Elizabeth’s 90th Birthday and in July is a 1940s weekend.
