Horncastle’s MP Sir Peter Tapsell was the star guest at an open day at the Southwold Nursing Home in Tetford.
The Open Day came after a difficult few months for the Nursing Home which, at one stage, was threatened with closure after a controversial report by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
Relatives of concerned residents had turned to Sir Peter for help and guidance.
Now, the nursing home looks set for a bright future with owners Shailen and Sovida Munnien to the fore.
They were delighted with the success of the Open Day and said: “On behalf of the residents and staff team, we would like to thank everyone for their contribution.
“Special thanks and appreciation to the pupils and staff from Sir Edward Richard Primary School, Tetford, who entertained us with some great songs and helped complete our Mexican Wave.
“We would also like to thank everyone who gave up their free time to support the day.
“We were pleased to welcome Sir Peter who took time to speak to residents and relatives. His comments while looking round the home were very positive.”
