Homes celebrate our county
Representatives from 11 care homes took part in the Lincolnshire Day celebrations at Stanhope Hall
RESIDENTS from Care Homes across Lincolnshire came to Stanhope Hall, Horncastle, on Monday to celebrate Lincolnshire Day.
There were representatives from 11 care homes across the county as they took part in the day to celebrate the county’s rich history.
In attendance were residents from: Clarence House, Cherry Tree Lodge, The Chestnuts, Fir Close, Glengarriff House, Middlefield House, Netherlands Care Home, St. Ogg’s, Seacroft Court, Tamar House and The Old Rectory.
Jane Ginnelly, area director for Primelife, said: “We just decided to have a party to celebrate Lincolnshire.
“Each home has researched a famous person from the county.
“For example, Clarence House has researched William Marwood, the Hangman of Horncastle.”
Horncastle Mayor Fiona Martin was there to open proceedings.
“I think it’s wonderful that this has been organised,” she said.
“It’s the only event in the town I’m aware of which is celebrating the day.
“All the homes do a great job caring for the community.”
