Outline planning consent has been granted for two dwellings to be built on land adjoining Sandiace, off Sandy Lane in Roughton - despite protests about the loss of trees and the threat to declining birds, such as lesser spotted woodpeckers and cuckoos.

At an East Lindsey planning committee meeting on Thursday (December 10), councillors were persuaded by officers that the potential environmental impact was not of sufficient scale to warrant refuse the application by Mr K. Armstrong.

Details of the types of properties and the layout of the site will be determined at a later date.
