All CallConnect passengers will travel for free on Saturday (July 4) as part of the Lincolnshire County Council-led ‘Catch The Bus Week’.

Lincolnshire County Council and CallConnect, Stagecoach, Brylaine Travel, PC Coaches and Centrebus joined forces to promote bus travel in the county and inspire more people to try a bus journey this week.

The Catch the Bus week roadshow will touring the county over the next few days to provide the latest timetables and information, taster bus tickets for people to try, and a competition to enter - along with their ‘Rocky the bus’ character.

After stopping off in Louth today (June 30), the roadshow will visit Caistor Police Station car park tomorrow (12.15 until 1.15pm) and Market Rasen Market Place (2.15 until 3.15pm) before heading towards the Lincoln area.

On Saturday July 4, all CallConnect journeys will be absolutely free. Call 0345 234 33 44 to book.

LCC Councillor Richard Davies, executive member for Highways and Transportation said: “The bus is an affordable and accessible form of transport, and a great and easy way to travel.

“We hope that during Catch the Bus Week we’ll encourage many more people to travel by bus, and hopefully change their travel habits for the long term. With free bus travel on offer we’re sure that some people will be converted.”

Andy Smith, Commercial Manager Stagecoach East Midlands, added: “Using the bus is a way of not only saving you money but it also helps the environment. Regular bus users will already know about the benefits and Catch The Bus Week is a great way of promoting this to other commuters, students, shoppers and leisure travellers.”
