ARE you completely up to scratch on the fire safety legislation at your business?
Lincolnshire business owners and companies who provide Fire Risk Assessments to these businesses are being advised to pay greater attention to Fire Safety legislation.
The warning comes following the sentencing of two Mansfield men at Nottingham Crown Court for fire safety offences.
Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue Service is reminding all business owners that it is their legal responsibility to protect their customers and staff against the risk of fire.
They warn that, where necessary, action has been and will be taken by the service against anyone found to be in breach of Fire Safety regulations.
Keiron Davey, Community Fire Protection Manager at Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue Service, said: “This ruling in Nottingham shows the seriousness of businesses failing to have an appropriate Fire Risk Assessment.
“If employers are unsure about how to carry out a Fire Risk Assessment, there is guidance available on our website. Companies who provide this service should be registered or accredited with an appropriate body.”
