From the Fen to the Front Line
Stickford Local History Group recently launched their new book, From the Fen to the Front Line, at a cheese and wine evening and exhibition in the Community Centre.
The book has been made possible through a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund and covers the period of the Great War in Stickford.
Included in the book is the history of the unique clock tower war memorial in the village, which was unveiled in 1923, and information about the soldiers listed on it, as well as those soldiers from Stickford who returned from the war.
Local author, Margaret Dickinson,went along to launch the book and spoke about it to those attending.
