Ranby Hall will open its gardens to the public later this month to raise money for the village church, St German’s.
The gardens form part of an entertaining afternoon on Sunday July 20 (1-5pm).
It is a rare chance to enjoy the hall’s gardens which feature two patches of easy woodland walking with superb specimen trees and an ornamental lake.
There’s also a much praised neighbouring garden, covering half an acre.
Well behaved dogs are welcome on a lead in the woodland and garden areas.
They can also take part in fun dog show. It will be held near the refreshment area, starting at 3pm, and will include several categories including simple obedience, best handler under the age of ten and happiest dog.
There will also be dog agility events for novices and for dogs which have never been placed in an event.
A spokesman for the organisers said: “The aim is fun for dogs, handlers and spectators.”
Entry to the woodland and garden is £2.50 (U16s free) and the dog show is £1 per entry.
