They’ve gone skipping mad at Scamblesby Church of England Primary School - with the help of ‘Skippy John’.
John Burn, from the ‘Skipping for Life’ organisation, called in at the school recently to perform a series of coaching workshops.
It followed on from a number of skipping initiatives introduced at the school last year.
Now, thanks to ‘Skippy John’, pupils are top of the skipping class.
Headteacher Julie Scawston said: “The children really have taken to skipping.
“It’s great for their fitness and co-ordination - as well as their general well being.”
Children were taught different skipping routines and how to use different length ropes.
Mrs Scrawston added: “Each class had its own workshop and by the end of the day, there was a significant improvement.
“It is tremendous to see the children in the playground. They can’t wait to get their skipping ropes out.”
