Seven students from Queen Elizabeth’s Grammar School in Horncastle will be heading off on the trip of a lifetime next July to the Far East.

They will be taking part in the 2016 World Challenge.

They will be setting off to Thailand, Vietnam, Laos and China to complete treks, stay in hostels and villages and work with local children, teaching them English and share their cultural differences.

They have to plan their itineraries and make all the decisions about where they stay and how they will travel through each country.

First, though, they must each raise £4,000 to cover the cost of the trip.

The seven are holding several fundraising events, including a table top sale in Woodhall Spa.

They all worked hard to put up bunting and posters in the village. They baked cakes, set up tables for refreshments and for sellers to display their goods.

The sale raised £182 and the students have thanked everyone for their support.
