KIRKBY on Bain Church of England Primary School has reason to celebrate after being graded ‘Good’ by Ofsted.
It was also graded ‘Outstanding’ in two of the four Church Schools Inspection categories.
Headteacher Simon Morley said: “The Ofsted report describes the ‘good progress’ that children make in reading, writing and mathematics.
“It also describes ‘outstanding teaching that challenges pupils with high-quality questioning and tasks.
“It also mentions our imaginative curriculum; something we have worked hard on over the last couple of years to embed in our school.”
Paul Brewster, chair of governers, said: “The Ofsted environment is now considerably more challenging than it was for our last inspection some four years ago.
“So I am absolutely delighted with the Ofsted result which grades us good in every category.
“The result is down to hard work of the Headteacher and the whole of the staff at the school.
“As a governing body we are grateful for the hard work which they put in each and every day to ensure that our children leave the school as accomplished, well rounded children.”
Mr Morley added: “We are lucky to have a strong and effective governing body, supportive parents, and wonderful children who make the school the special place it is.”
