Good handwriting and penmanship were rewarded in Coningsby Community Hall when the awards were presented to the winners of the ninth annual Pen Dragon inter-school handwriting competition.
The Wyvern Trophy for the winning school was presented to Guy Curly, vice-chairman of the governors of New York Primary School, by Jason Wilkes, the creator of the trophy.
The individual award for the best handwriting of the year went to Elizabeth Oliver, also of New York School.
