Students at Horncastle’s Banovallum School will be putting their best foot forward on Friday April 4 to raise money for Cancer Research.

All students will take part in an hour-and-a-half sponsored walk around the school site between 1.50pm and 3.20pm.

The event is being organised by a group of Duke of Edinburgh students as part of their Bronze Award. It is also part of the school’s on-going inter house competition, challenging each house to make as much money as possible from sponsorship or other fundraising ideas.

The school would be happy to hear of any suitable events which could take place during the walk to raise additional funds.

Students can be sponsored using a forms the school has handed out or by via www.justgiving.com/banovallumschool.

All students are encouraged to wear as much pink coloured clothing on the day. It will be an official non-uniform day with a minimum donation of £1.

A school spokesman said: “We would obviously like to raise as much money as possible for the charity so we’d encourage friends family and colleagues to sponsor students.”
