Saints alive! Horncastle school pupils help Tesco clock up the miles

St Lawrence School Horncastle bikeathon at Tesco

St Lawrence School Horncastle bikeathon at Tesco

When staff at Tesco supermarket in Horncastle wanted help, they didn’t send for Ghostbusters....they called in pupils from a local school instead.

The store had organised a ‘Bikeathon’ to raise money for Diabetes UK.

The aim was to clock up the equivalent numbers of miles involved in a journey to Lapland.

Fortunately, pupils from class 3KC at Horncastle’s St Lawrence School were only to happy to lend a hand - and plenty of pedal power.

They were soon hard at work clocking up the miles - and collecting money - to help staff towards their final target.

Our picture (above) shows pupils with staff during their fundraising bid.
