Swimmers from St Hugh’s School in Woodhall Spa certainly made a splash when they won two team competitions at the Coastal & Wolds Zonal Swimming Gala.

Some 24 pupils from St Hugh’s took part in the competition, held in Skegness. The competition took a team format and was split into two age groups, years 3 and 4 and years 5 and 6.

And after some winning individual performances the St Hugh’s years 3 and 4 team beat their closest competition by a full seven points. There was an even bigger margin for the school’s years 5 and 6 team, who cruised to victory with a 16 point cushion over their nearest rivals. Both teams have now qualified for the Lincs Finals, on March 5 in Grantham.
