Pupils from Gartree Community School travelled to Wembley Arena last Friday to take part in a UK first - a celebration event called “We Day.”

It was organised by the Free the Children charity and the aim was to bring young people together to inspire them and highlight the difference they can make to other people’s lives. Speakers and musical acts include HRH Prince Harry, Al Gore, Sir Richard Branson, Ellie Goulding, Malala Yousafzai, Clive Owen and Paralympian Martine Wright.

Staff at Gartree have thanked the Rotary Club for helping with transport costs. The school was eligible to take part after fundraising for the charity over the past year.
