Counsellor course available at QEGS
In a rare opportunity to access a counselling course outside Lincolnshire colleges there will be a 10-week long course starting at Queen Elizabeth’s Grammar School Horncastle.
If you have been looking for some recognition of the work that you do as a volunteer or have been considering using your life experience to train and work as a counsellor you can take the first step in achieving this by enrolling.
The pre-counsellor training course is also for those who work as volunteers or in a pastoral role.
It will run for 10 consecutive weeks - but breaking for school half term - beginning on Wednesday April 17.
The classes will begin at 6pm and close at 9pm.
The accreditation is through a course journal and a one hour exam set by the examination board AQA.
AQA call the course ‘Pre-Counselling Concepts (1600)’ and it is the first step in a series of professional qualifications.
The tutor is Jayne Garrill, who has taught the course at the Robert Pattinson Adult Education Centre, Lincoln.
For further details contact Marianne Watkins on 01507 522465 (schooldays) or 01522 535770 at all other times.
