All cheers as our book worms get just reward
Children proudly display their certificates after completing the Horncastle Library Summer Reading Challenge
HORNCASTLE children were recently rewarded for their participation in the Horncastle Library Summer Reading Challenge.
In order to receive their certificate, each child had to complete two tasks which involved reading over the summer and also visiting the library.
As well as the reading challenge, the library put on activity clubs over the summer giving opportunities for children to learn about Roman history.
Library worker Alex said: “Over the summer they had to read at least six books and come to the library three times. They collected stickers to show their progress, and all the children completed the challenge.”
Liz handed out certificates to each child who attended, and each was received with a round of applause from parents and library staff.
“It’s been the best turnout we’ve had for a while,” Alex continued. “It’s nice to see so many children getting involved.
“We appreciate that parents also have a lot on their plate so it’s nice to see they have been coming in too.”
