Van driver admits causing death
A VAN driver admitted causing the death by dangerous driving of a Bucknall pensioner when he appeared before Lincoln Crown Court on Monday.
Ross Murrell, 22, of Chestnut Drive, Hassocks, near Brighton, pleaded guilty to causing death by dangerous driving following a collision on the B1190 at Thimbleby on August 3, 2011.
Murrell’s van collided head-on with a Suzuki Swift car driven by 70-year-old John Hextall.
Mr Hextall, who had recently moved to Bucknall, was taken to Lincoln County Hospital where he died as a result of his injuries.
Murrell was bailed by Recorder, Jalil Asif QC, to return to court for sentence at a later date.
