Teenagers stole CDs during van theft

Two teenagers admitting stealing CDs from a parked camper van in Horncastle when they appeared at Skegness Magistrates Court.

Michael Aubrey Love, 19, of West Street, and a 16-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, stole the CDs belonging to Tara Woods after they found the van door unlocked. They also admitted three other offences of theft and damage.

In mitigation for Love, Andrea Wilkes said he was of previous good character and they were opportunistic offences.

She said Love had moved to Horncastle from London to stay with his mother. He suffered from ADHD and was easily led. She said he had returned to London.

The Magistrates imposed a 12 month conditional discharge and ordered Love to pay £85 costs and £307 compensation.

The juvenile, who appeared separately, was remitted for sentence to the Youth Court.
