Protect business from theives
A crime prevention event is being held on a Horncastle trading estate, specifically aimed at helping self-employed builders and tradesmen protect their tools and equipment.
The event is taking place in Holmes Way, on the Boston Road Industrial Estate and will run from 9am until noon tomorrow, Thursday, August 2.
The mobile police station will be parked in the estate with officers from Louth Neighbourhood Policing Team on hand to offer advice.
Smartwater packs will be provided free of charge on a first come first served basis.
SmartWater is a colourless liquid solution that is simply dabbed onto the uneven surfaces of valuables and can be used to code all sorts of items, such as tools, ornaments, electrical items and even motor vehicles.
Each bottle contains a unique chemical ‘code’ which is registered to an individual, conclusively proving ownership. It cannot be easily seen by the naked eye and is almost impossible to remove. The liquid glows under ultraviolet light making it easy for the police to detect.
