Police in Horncastle are appealing for information after vandals struck at a town school.

Officers want to hear from anyone who saw three male youths loitering around Banovallum School last Friday at around 9pm.

Police are studying CCTV footage as part of on-going enquiries.

No details have been released about any damage caused but it is not thought to be serious.

Meanwhile, police report there have been no further hoax telephone calls made to the emergency services from public telephone boxes in the town.

The News revealed last week that ‘abusive’ calls had been made from telephone boxes in Wharf Road and Boston Road.

Police are continuing to patrol both locations on a regular basis and warn robust action will be taken against any offenders.

Officers have also appealed to motorists to slow down in wet weather after several minor accidents recently.

One reported incident took place at Thimbleby where the road surface was said to be “very slippery.”

Cyclists are also advised to wear bright clothing as part of the ‘Be Bright - Be Seen’ campaign.
