Horncastle man fined for littering
HORNCASTLE resident Dale Lidster has been fined for dropping litter in the centre of town.
Mr Lidster, of Tennyson Gardens, appeared at Skegness Magistrates Court on September 5 2012 where he pleaded guilty to throwing down a chip wrapper in the Market Place on September 9 2011 after being caught on CCTV.
He was ordered to pay a £300 fine, £250 costs and a further £15 victim surcharge.
East Lindsey District Council brought the prosecution as it continues its efforts to reduce littering and fly tipping in the District.
Portfolio Holder for the Environment at the Council, Councillor Tony Bridges, said: “Littering is a blight on our community and will not be tolerated.
“We spend over a million pounds each year clearing up after irresponsible people and we hope this case sends a strong message to those do think littering is acceptable.”
