Coningsby dog walker grabbed by man in attempted robbery

A woman walking her dog was grabbed by the hair by a man in Masons Lane at the rear of The Cobb Shop in Coningsby at around 5.45pm on Wednesday, January 28. The man ran off after the woman’s dog began barking but she was shaken and suffered grazing to her face.

The offender is described as being of skinny build, aged in his 20s, and wearing jeans and a black hooded top with the hood up.

The motive of the assault is not clear but the incident is being treated as an attempted robbery. Anyone with information is asked to contact DC Sarah Wright by dialling 101 and quoting incident number 80 of 28th January.

The victim in this case was wearing headphones and did not hear the man approach. When out walking alone, particularly in unlit areas, always be aware of your surroundings and avoid wearing headphones or using a mobile phone to call or text.
