Cashpoint scam warning

POLICE are warning people to be vigilant after a cash machine was found to have been tampered with in Horncastle.

An engineer discovered that a small hole had been drilled above the keypad at the Tesco cash machine in Watermill Road on Friday.

A police spokesman said: “Fraudsters may attack an ATM this way in order to fit a small camera which will record PINs being entered onto the keypad.”

Anyone with information should call Lincolnshire Police on 101 and quote incident number 181 of June 29.
