It wasn’t an average call out for PC Gary Youngs as he was asked to deal with a runaway Ostrich in Coningsby.

The Police Constable was asked to find the bird in Coningsby as the police van was out on another call.

PC Youngs and his colleague PC Tom Harrison managed to put the Ostrich in the back of their patrol car and it was safely delivered back to Tattershall Farm Park.

A police spokesman said: “It’s not an everyday occurrence but that’s policing in rural Lincolnshire.”
