The Horncastle Branch of the Royal British Legion is inviting residents of the town to take part in a candle-lit vigil to mark the First World War.
The vigil will be held on Monday August 4 at the War Memorial Hospital to mark the 100th anniversary of the date Great Britain entered the war.
The vigil is held as part of the Lights Out initiative in which the RBL are inviting everyone in the UK to turn off their lights from 10pm until 11pm, leaving on a single light or candle for a shared moment of reflection.
The candle-lit vigil will be held at the same time, 10pm-11pm, at the War Memorial Hospital.
You are invited to bring your own candle, or purchase a centenary candle from Marks & Spencer, to pay respects to those who sacrificed their lives during the conflict.
