Travel agents in administration

Customers of a Horncastle travel agents, which has applied to go into administration, have been assured their holidays are safe.

The Bowen Travel Group (BTG)- which has premises in High Steet, Horncastle - was closed today (Friday).

A type-written sign on the door read: “closed due to unforeseen circumstances.”

The company owns 38 shops across the Midlands and seven in Lincolnshire, including premises in Horncastle, Spilsby and Louth.

It is understood all the company’s stores are closed.

The Association of British Travel Agents (ABTA), said holidays would be protected under the national CPT scheme.

BTG also owns Appleby’s Holidays, one of the region’s biggest coach operators.

No-one from the company was available for comment and it is not clear whether any of the shops will re-open - or how many staff are affected by the move into administration.
