AS HORNCASTLE’S roadworks enter their second week, Lincolnshire County Council’s Highways Officers have reported that the works are running to programme as laid out for week one.
Horncastle’s County Councillor Bill Aron welcomed the news and said: “Speculation that the town would be gridlocked and trade would suffer drastically has been well and truly disproved.
“There were one or two teething troubles - but once reported officers have sorted these out very quickly.
“I can only reiterate that patience and understanding is required for the next few weeks - the benefits will outweigh this short-term disruption.”
Coun Aron also said that he has received positive feedback from at least 16 businesses in the town who said that things had held up fairly well and they appreciated that the work needed to be done.
If anyone has any queries regarding the works Coun Aron can be contacted on 01507 526951.
He will then pass any issues on to the Highways team to try and resolve any problem as soon as possible.
