Good causes given Co-Op grants
HORNCASTLE Playingfields and Horncastle and District Community Centre Association are just two of 21 groups given funding by Lincolnshire Co-operative.
As part of the latest round of Community Dividend Grants, £14,950 has been shared between organisations including dancers, archaeologists, scouts and singers.
Horncastle Playing Fields received £800 to be put towards a gas cooker, dishwasher, fridge and freezer in order to improve the facilities in the club house.
£500 was granted to the Community Centre Association for 12 new folding tables.
Lincolnshire Co-Op is owned by its members, who are people from its trading area, and giving donations and support to good causes is one way of the ways the Society shares its profits.
Those who sit on the Member Services Council are asked to make decisions on grant applications.
£3,400 was given by Lincolnshire Co-operative to the ‘East’ area which includes Horncastle, Skegness and Spilsby.
