Businesses can help cancer charity

Businesses in Horncastle and the surrounding area are being asked to take part in the Macmillan ‘3 Month Business Challenge’.

Macmillan Cancer Support hopes to raise much needed funds by challenging local companies to complete the challenge from March 1 to May 31.

Macmillan will provide companies that sign up with a fundraising pack and the means to raise £20 to get them started.

The challenge then is to turn that £20 into as much as possible using their fund raising initiatives and entrepreneurial skills.

Fundraising manager for Lincolnshire, Tanya Taylor said: “Every day, 822 people will hear the words they have cancer.

“Macmillan are here to make sure that no one has to face cancer alone.

“We are currently struggling to meet the needs of our local community and we need help”.

“Just think, if 50 businesses took on this challenge & raised say a £1000 each we would have enough money to potentially fund a new nurse.”
