After coming across some unexpected issues the National Grid have admitted that works in Horncastle are two to three days behind schedule, but have revealed they are working to recover lost time.
Roadworks are currently taking place in the High Street between St Lawrence Street and North Street with diversions in place across the town.
Sara Wilcox, spokesman for the National Grid, said: “We are two to three days behind schedule but we are bringing extra staff members on site.
“We are aiming to claw back this time and we are also working on Saturdays too.
“As with any project there are going to be sections that run smoothly and there will be others where we will run into a few problems.”
Once work in the High Street is completed the National Grid will be moving up towards Market Place before closing St Lawrence Street for works.
After St Lawrence Street is completed work will take place in North Street with further diversions set to be put in place.
The much-needed work was initially scheduled to take place over a period of seven weeks.
