Two businesses in Horncastle have been awarded Certificates of Excellence for 2014 by TripAdvisor.

Thai Dining Room and The Old Stables have been awarded after consistently receiving outstanding traveller reviews on the website, which allows customers to rate their experiences.

Phil Cantwell, owner of the Thai Dining Room, said: “I’m really pleased that we received this award.

“It reflects more on the customer service that our diners experience.

“We’ve been registered on TripAdvisor for the last 14 or 15 months and about 60 per cent of our business comes from people who have seen us on there.

“Not only is it great for us but it’s great for the town as well.”

Jonathan White, co-owner of the Old Stables, added: “It’s great for our staff too - they usually tell me if they have seen a review on the website.

“They are the ones giving the service and working with the customers face to face and it’s great to see them receive positive feedback.”

Phil, whose business is on West Street, continued: “We do take notice of what people say and we take on board some of the feedback we get.

“I think TripAdvisor is great for the town, there are about 25 businesses on there and whenever I go on holiday or to new cities I always use it to find out where the best places are to eat.”

Greetham Retreat Holidays, who offer self-catering holiday cottages, also received a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence as well as a Gold Award from Visit England.
