The Real Bean Café at RAF Coninsgby has beaten off competition from at least 20 other stations and barracks to be named Real Bean Café of the Year.
“We have a very small but completely dedicated team,” said Julie Sandiford, manager of the cafe, which opened in 2011. “Everyone gets along with everyone else and we just love to get the job done and see happy customers.
“We are just really pleased to be recognized for what we do – it can be very hard work when the café is busy, but we do our best to make it work.”
As well as this award, the ISS team at RAF Coningsby, which runs the catering, retail and leisure side of the station, has recently been nominated for the Retail and Leisure Team of the Year – an award that judges every element of ISS facilities across the unit.
