EVERYONE who has a vote is being urged to go to a polling station in Horncastle tomorrow, Thursday, between 4pm and 9pm to have a say on the Town Hall.
The voting slip will ask electors whether they support the resolution that the Town Hall should be 'retained and refurbished as a community facility for the continued benefit of the people of Horncastle and the surrounding area'.

The count will take place after the polling stations close - at the town hall and community centre - and the result will be announced later in the evening.

A war of words has blown up over the question of whether to save the former drill hall or to demolish it and build a new replacement centre.

Controversy also surrounds the parish poll itself because it will cost Horncastle council tax payers £5,200 but, no matter what the outcome, the decision is not binding.

And, although the Town Hall serves a huge catchment area, only people living in the parish of Horncastle can take part in the poll.

The great debate has become more vociferous since a parish meeting last month called by six people keen to save the Town Hall.
