11am, Friday - A 23-YEAR-OLD man who shouted threats at customers as they left a village pub has been fined by magistrates.
Samuel Chaplin had been drinking in the Red Lion at Baumber for most of the evening on May 31 but around midnight the landlady refused to serve him anymore drink and he and his friend left the premises, prosecutor Marie Stace told the court.

Chaplin later shouted threats as others left the pub. He also threatened to put the windows through, which alarmed one of the customers, said Miss Stace.

Chaplin, of Chapel Lane, Baumber, Horncastle, admitted using behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress.

He told the court he was truly sorry for his actions. He said he was ashamed of what he had done and added that his behaviour had been completely unacceptable.

Skegness magistrates fined Chaplin £100 and ordered him to pay £60 costs and a £15 surcharge.
