4.20pm, Wednesday - A 32-YEAR-OLD man has been airlifted to hospital after a crash in Horncastle.
Sgt John Gowler, from Lincolnshire Police, said: "The accident involved a bin lorry and a local motorcyclist.
"The rider was taken to hospital with serious but unspecified injuries."
The Collision Investigation Team from Lincoln have been at the scene to investigate what happened.
Sgt Gowler said: "We appreciate the inconvenience it has caused people with the road diversions but because of the serious nature of the accident it was necessary."
Earlier, police said the man is local and was riding a blue Honda motorbike involved in a collision with a white Volvo bin lorry.
The incident happened at the junction of Winceby Gardens and the A158 Spilsby Road.
It happened at around 1pm this afternoon and police are appealing for witnesses.
The motorcyclist was flown to Lincoln County Hospital by the air ambulance.
No other injuries have been reported. Both Winceby Gardens and the A158 were closed for much of the afternoon.
