8am, Friday - AN OPEN day will be held at the Sir Joseph Banks Centre in Bridge Street, Horncastle, on Saturday, July 18, from 2-6pm.
The event will offer visitors the chance to get a sneak preview of the magnificent new Banks garden being developed at the rear of the centre.

The landscaping for the project is being funded by a £100,000 Lottery grant and further

funding has been applied for to buy plants associated with the 18th century explorer and botanist Sir Joseph Banks for the garden.

Open day visitors will also be invited to join in the Sponsor a Plant Scheme.

Chairman of the Sir Joseph Banks Society, Cheryle Berry, said she hopes as many people as possible will attend the open day.

There will also be a barbecue in an adjoining garden organised by society members.
