Doreen Stephenson tipped to remain ELDC leader

IT looks like Coun Doreen Stephenson will be re-elected Conservative leader of East Lindsey District Council at the council AGM on May 21.
There had been speculation in the Opposition groups that the North Thoresby representative might step down in favour of a younger colleague - with Coun Colin Davie (Ingoldmells) and Coun Neil Cooper (Burgh-le-Marsh) both being tipped as potential candidates.


However, at the Conservative group's annual meeting, she was re-elected leader, with Coun Dick Edginton (Skegness, Seacroft) as deputy.


"The vote was unanimous," said Coun Davie.
