EXPENDITURE on an interim refurbishment at Horncastle library to accommodate additional facilities is now expected to total around £140,000.
It has been revealed the £90,0000 cost of the project, as reported in last week’s News, with equal amounts coming from Lincolnshire County Council and East Lindsey District Council, is ‘only a net figure.’
The library building is due to be altered to incorporate a new office for the Horncastle town clerk, the ELDC staff who currently work at the town hall and the town’s tourist information office on a temporary basis.
The £90,000 does not include the cost of making the building Disability Discrimination Act compliant, furnishings and relevant fees and these costs will raise the figure to the region of £140,000.
