At the February meeting, Bill Smith gave a talk about moles and other pests.

He told members how the life of a mole is between three and four years. They eat 20 worms a day. Only half their offspring survive.

David Rout, joint show secretary, gave out this year’s show schedule and encouraged all members to enter.

He hoped children would enter the junior sections.

Club president Doreen Holmes thanked Brian Churchill, Pat Newsum, Liz Gilliland, Dawn Mutti and Leo Boshier for joining her in growing plants over the last five years for Woodhall Spa Village in Bloom .

Any new volunteers are asked to contact Graham Keegan on 0780 1661580.

There are still a few places available for the trip to Harrogate spring show on April 21 and also for the Bob Flowerdew evening on April 15; call Sharon on 01526 353851.

This month’s meeting is in St Peter’s Hall on March 18 at 7.30pm, when Tony Leech will be talking on witches and devils.

New members and visitors are always welcome.
