Quality of show impresses despite British weather

HORNCASTLE Flower Show proved to be a successful occasion with some standout performers taking a number of trophies home.

Dave Fairburn stole the show with wins in nine categories and John Jacques also took home an impressive seven cups.

Organiser Pat Rowett was buoyed by the quality of entries despite the poor weather growers have had in recent months.

She said: “The show ran very smoothly as always.

“We had reduced entries in some classes because of the weather, but those that were entered were fantastic.

“We had a number of visitors too, and they always enjoy coming to the show.”
