The Northcote Knights are set to provide an entertaining show

BE entertained by the goodly knights this Sunday, August 19, as Northcote Heavy Horse Centre holds a Medieval Tournament.

This is the last major charity event of the year for the Great Steeping centre, and is now one of the most important - to help buy hay for the horses over winter.

The hay bill alone is more than £5,000 and it is hoped this event will raise in the region of £1,000 to help the charity along.

The tournament will see some of the centre’s new horses try their hand at skill at arms, as well as the experienced horses who will be doing their own form of Jousting.

They will once again be joined by Lincoln Castle’s falconer Derek Tindall with his birds of prey, with the opportunity for members of the audience to hold the birds too.

There will also be gymnastics on horseback, fire performances, have a go archery, bouncy castle and lots more to keep everyone entertained.

Admission to the centre is £5 for adults and £3.50 for children and senior citizens.

Gates open at 10.30am, with the event from 11.15am to 3pm.
