Kinema to mark 90 years in film
IT has featured more stars than Broadway.
Later this month, Woodhall Spa’s Kinema in the Woods will celebrate it’s 90th birthday on Sunday, August 26.
A programme of events will feature an open afternoon and a special evening film showing,
Resident organist, Alan Underwood, will be performing and there will also be guided tours of the projection room and various demonstrations, including 9mm and 35m projectors and film splicing.
The history of The Kinema and film memorabilia from over the years will be on display in the foyer during the open afternoon.
A second feature of the celebrations will be a double-bill film showing of “The Smallest Show on Earth” and “Singin’ In The Rain’” at 6.30pm.
There will be an introduction to the evening by the owner of The Kinema, James Green.
Tickets for the open day will be £4 for adults, £3 for seniors and £2 for children and for double bill of films in the evening it is £9.50 each.
