THE recent “Props and Pistons” day at the Aviation Heritage Centre, East Kirkby, was a major feast of entertainment for enthusiasts of all ages.

Big crowds were treated to a display of more than 100 historic and exotic cars with model and
full-sized aircraft performing overhead.

Highlights included the centre’s Lancaster bomber Just Jane and an appearance by Paul Lamplough’s Jordan 2001 Formula One racing car.

One of only six built, it was once driven by Jamo Trulli and there was a long line-up of visitors waiting to take a close look.

Youngster Hannah Stevens was among the lucky few and managed a really close examination - from the driver’s seat.
