Horncastle’s highly-rated musician Elliott Morris is supporting Sean Taylor at next week’s gig at Barton upon Humber’s Ropery Hall.

Elliott will be appearing at the Maltkiln Road venue on Friday (November 2) having already picked up a local following from performing at Barton’s Old Mill.

Liz Bennett, of The Ropewalk said: “We’re delighted that Elliott is Sean’s support act on the night.

“At the Lincoln Folk Festival he opened for Martin Carthy and Dave Swarbrick and received really positive reviews.

“He’s also appeared at the Cambridge Folk Festival for three years and two years ago, was profiled on BBC Introducing.”

On that programme, Elliott cited Frank Turner, John Martyn, John Mayer and Eric Roche as influences.

He revealed Roche was responsible for his own style of percussive guitar playing.

The “specialised heavy duty guitar” - which Elliott plays - was custom built by top guitar maker Martin Harrison who is known for his work with rock stars.

Last year, one of the world’s largest guitar manufacturers, Cort Guitars, featured Elliott in its demonstration videos of new acoustic guitar models.

Headline act Taylor, who has appeared previously at Ropery Hall as a support act, has rapidly grown to be one of the
hottest new names in the UK blues/acoustic scene with his incredible passion for performance. The gig starts at 8pm and
tickets cost £10 in advance or £12 on the door, They can be booked online at www.roperyhall.co.uk or by telephoning 01652 660380
