Castle programme draws the crowds
Clive Pullen, from Woodhall Spa, and his granddaughter Jessica handle owls at Tattershall Castle's final Have A Go day
TATTERSHALL Castle held two different Outdoor Theatre nights last week, with The Sword in the Stone and Macbeth taking the stage.
Thursday night saw the Cambridge Touring Company perform The Sword in the Stone, which was enjoyed by an enthusiastic audience of all ages.
Macbeth was held on Friday night to an audience of almost 300, many of whom arrived early to enjoy a picnic in the castle grounds.
As the light faded, the castle provided an atmospheric venue for a powerful presentation of ‘the Scottish play’, and the efforts of the Lord Chamberlain’s Men company kept the audience captivated throughout the entire performance.
The Castle’s ‘Have a Go’ month also ended on Sunday with an owl display.
Visitors could meet a variety of owls, including a barn owl, tawny owl and European Eagle owl.
There was also a chance to have a go handling the bids as well as being shown basic training techniques.
The next event is a sponsored abseil down the front of the castle on Sunday September 9. For details contact the Castle.
