Banovallum Brass Band and the Horncastle and District Choral Society unite to bring a feast of festive music this Friday night, December 14, at 7.30pm.

The concert will be held in the surroundings of St. Mary’s Church, Horncastle.

Both band and choir will be celebrating the Christmas season as they present annual
festive concerts.

Banovallum Brass commenced their Christmas carol playing at Ingoldmells on December 1 and their first concert of the Christmas season was held last weekend on Saturday December 8 at Tattershall Castle and Tattershall Church.

They played to a very receptive audience for Carols by Candlelight.

The band and choir have been putting in some extra rehearsals and are working hard on their Christmas programme to entertain the people of Horncastle and the district ahead of this Friday’s performance.

The Christmas programme will consist of festive music to suit all tastes including White Christmas, Gordon Langford’s Christmas Fantasy and John Rutters’ Christmas Lullaby, both for Band and Choir.

Band member Lyn Edwards said: “The Christmas atmosphere created in St. Mary’s Church is the perfect venue, especially during the festive season.

“It should ensure that an entertaining evening will be enjoyed by all.

“Normally we just do our own concerts at this time of year and very rarely do brass bands and choirs play together.

“We are all really looking forward to performing in the Church.”

Tickets are £5 with accompanied children free, and includes interval refreshments.

They are available to purchase on the door, or from J T Friskney Ltd on West Street, Horncastle.
