Banovallum Band to hit right notes

BANOVALLUM Brass will be celebrating the end of a very busy summer - and the start of autumn - when they perform at St Mary’s Church on Saturday evening (7.30pm).

The band’s summer season was only interrupted twice by rain and a highlight was a performance on The Wong in June for the Diamond Jubilee celebrations. The band has been working on an autumn programme which will consist of music to suit all tastes, including the first two movements from George Gershwin’s suite “Porgy and Bess”, Robbie Williams’ “Let Me Entertain You” and Andrew Duncan’s “Welsh Echoes”.

Steve Ingham, the band’s musical director, said: “The atmosphere created in St Mary’s Church should ensure that an entertaining evening will be enjoyed by all.”

Tickets (£5) are available from JT Friskney Ltd, West Street, or on the door.
